This posted on Craigslist today, titled "This is Freddie's Booking Agent":

" This is Jacque Duncan, the booking agent for Freddie's Place. I wanted to clear up some things about our band booking...

1) We pay bands! I don't know how these crazy rumors get started but let me assure you, we do pay bands to play! Most have day jobs as well!
2) We also have our staff work the tip jar for the bands and our customers are very generous!
3) We allow a $20 comp per band member for food/drink. I don't know what other restaurants/clubs do but I don't want anyone out there thinking that we are a bunch of cheapskates!

Please watch Fox 7 at 5:00 and at 9:00 tonight. They just left the restaurant after interviewing Fred, again, and it will provide some helpful information about what the City of Austin proposes to change this 70 db ruling and how ludicrous it is! We cannot simply re-classify ourselves as another type of venue. The City only knows about the inner working of the city and has no idea about TABC licensing requirements, State and Federal, etc...

I have received a ton of response from musicians and neighbors alike. We have lots of support, to say the least.... Freddie's will remain a popular place, even without the music, however it will take some work to reach a compromise so that we may begin again.
