OK first of all I told y'all about how Billy Bob Thornton's webmistress was tryin' to get me in touch with his people so I could interview him for this blog. Well she really did try, even sent them a personal recommendation, but they never got back with me. So I went down to the in-store anyway, determined to ask some questions, and here's what went down.
First of all when I got there early and went to go buy the CD Modbilly so I could get a priority entry wristband to the show, I was told that I might not even need a wristband as the sales were slow that day. It was just gonna be a "nice intimate little in-store." And it was. People were not lining up for this event.
Of course I planted myself right in front of the stage. Billy Bob chatted and they played a little acoustic set. Here Billy Bob talks about Waterloo Records, touring with Willy Nelson and Ray Price, and mouthing off to "somebody"; then they perform "Turn It Over" from their new CD. I also got some great photographs, see them HERE.
So after they played they set up a table to do autographs. We were told that they would only autograph Boxmasters items. We were warned that they would NOT sign anything that had to do with Billy's movies. I peeled a Boxmasters poster off the wall and stood in line to have him sign it and to ask him some questions.
So when I get to Billy Bob I take a video of him while asking him whether his webmistress really prints out his Facebook comments and if he really reads them. He says he only recently found out that he has a Facebook page. And he says that while they are on the road, his webmistress does in fact box up all the pages and sends the box to him, and he does read them. Check it out.
